Anandabazar Patrika –The Numero Uno of Regional Newspapers

Anandabazar Patrika is the leading Bengali newspaper in West Bengal and the most circulated regional newspapers daily in the country. Currently ABP boasts of a readership  of over 65 lakhs as reported by the IRS in 2010. The newspaper owned by ABP Group was launched by Prafulla Chandra Sarkar in the year 1922. Initially Anandabazar Patrika was circulated as an evening daily, but soon it attained the status of a widely read morning broadsheet. Following the popularity of Anandbazar Patrika, the ABP group also launched its sister publication called The Telegraph.  Published in English, The Telegraph soon became popular in Eastern India.

Anandabazar Patrika has always been an emblem of fearless reporting. Competition:

 Anandabazar Patrika is the undisputed champion when it comes to regional or Bengali newspaper s published in India. Bartaman another popular Bengali newspaper in West Bengal is the only completion ABP has within West Bengal. Other English newspapers like Times Of India, Hindustan Times do compete with ABP but that threat is averted by the company’s other publication The Telegraph.
